Adult Sunday School

Adult Christian Education in January: Beginning January 8th, two adult Sunday school classes will be offered. Both will use The Wired Word, a Bible study curriculum that combines recent headlines from the news wire with scripture to engage participates in thought-provoking discussion. Rev. Scanlon will continue to convene his class in the Chapel at 9:45 am. An additional class for young adults, those in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, will gather separately in the Social Hall at 9:45.

During Lent, the adult Sunday school classes will use Marjorie Thompson's book Forgiveness: A Lenten Study to lead their discussion. Forgiving others and humbly asking for forgiveness are central disciplines for all Christian believers. Lent, a time to reflect on our Christian journey, is an appropriate time to deepen our understanding and practice of forgiveness.Using biblical examples and real-life situations, Thompson, a Presbyterian minister, illustrates each chapter’s theme in an informative and engaging way. A study guide is also included at the back of the book that is appropriate for either individual reflection or group discussion. With clarity, insight, and sensitivity, this book is the perfect resource for examining both our ability to forgive and our own need for forgiveness. Books for these Sundays are being ordered and may be purchased for $8. Please join the discussion at 9:45 am on the Sunday mornings during Lent.
